History of Wisin y Yandel

Wisin: (19 December 1978) and Llandel Veguilla. Yandel: (14 January 1977) are two singers of reggaeton, originating in Cayey, Puerto Rico. They were ranked among the most prominent representatives of Reggaeton, a dance music subgenre that belongs to the Urban Music, which descended from reggae and hip hop. Became popular in the late 1990s.

In his hometown, working as a barber Wisin, Yandel was completed while studying theater and interpretation. On issues shared the same musical tastes, and soon made their debut at the scene and recorded some tracks on compilation albums. In 1998 participated in the album No Fear 3, produced by DJ Dicky, a year later on the compilation The Mission, Vol 1, released by the label Fresh Production. The success of this compilation (which reached gold record) led to the label to produce Los Reyes del Nuevo Milenio, first album by Wisin y Yandel.
